Abstracts/Home

In this issue of the Electronic Musicological Review there is a new section on reviews. The first is by Carlos Palombini who comments on the book by Flo Menezes Electroacoustic Music: Histories and Aesthetics, in the second Norton Dudeque comments Ilza Nogueira's Ernst Widmer - Perfil Estilístico. The main article is also by Carlos Palombini, Pierre Schaeffer, 1953: towards an Experimental Music, who examines the first stage in the transition from concrete music to musical research: the step whereby the Groupe de Recherches de Musique Concrète rallied musique concrète, elektronische Musik, music for tape and 'exotic music' under the banner of experimental music.

The Electronic Musicological Review is a publication online which aims not only to publish the production of Brazilian researchers, but also print texts that would not normally be available to the Portuguese-speaking public.
